All-American Bonspiel

The All-American has been sponsored by The USWCA since 1966. This event was designed to give USWCA member clubs the opportunity to participate in a national event on home ice. We encourage each club to make it an opportunity for your daytime and evening curlers to join in fellowship wherever possible; however, participation of all eligible curlers is the goal.  If you do not have enough curlers in your own club to hold the All-American, you may join with another club to do so.  The main focus is on the club curler.

The USWCA provides specially designed award pins for the winning team for a day time and evening All-American Event.  A fifth team pin will be provided by the USWCA if needed.  It is the responsibility of each club to have the pins engraved.

There are three important aspects for hosting an All-American event:

 (1) The application form gives us notice that your club plans to hold the event.  It is imperative to apply early in the curling season to ensure we have pins available for distribution to all the winning teams.   You may download the application form, print and mail to the Chair (as listed in the USWCA Directory) - or the USWCA Representative may hand deliver the form at the USWCA Fall Meeting and take possession of the pins at that time.

 (2) The results form needs to be returned immediately following the event.  This will ensure that all winning teams are submitted to The United States Curling News for publication.

 (3) The Regulations document explains Eligibility, Procedure, Rules of Play and Awards.

Hibbing and Detroit had tie games which resulted in playoffs, creating an exciting finale to this event.

Ardsley, Chicago, Kettle Moraine, Mayfield and Poynette held two competitions for their morning and evening leagues.
